ASYMPTOTE

A/V Performance
Duomo Di Messina, Sicily, Italy — 09/15

Duomo di Messina has its own deterministic features as distinct from other architectural constructions.
This cathedral has two different term's architectural characteristics. It's Sicily's one of the first Gothic style buildings as well as it carrys Sicily's characteristic Norman concept in itself.

This building's most significant and attractive feature is these 2 different designs's reflection of their time without interference.

Our starting point was Gothic and Norman style element's complex structures and their geometric forms.

Getting the inspiration from ‘’Asymptote’’ term in analytic geometry, Duomo di Messina's side by side angle conditions and it's congruent geometric surface, our goal was to present a fresh experience to the audience by redefining the cathedral's complex architecture using figures and objects that are congruent with the algebraic geometry.
